President Tokayev declares 2020 as Year of Volunteers

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree on announcement of 2020 as a Year of Volunteers, Akorda press service reported. The head of state supported the proposal to declare next year as a Year of Volunteers on May 29 during the Kazakh-Russian youth forum, which was held in Kostanay. Tokayev then said that the volunteer movement is needed for the government and that volunteer preparation centers should be opened.
The President underlined the need to evelop and apply information policy and create infrastructure of volunteering activities on social media.
"I see many civil initiatives, volunteer and social projects are genertated on social media. Activists propose socially important ideas and projects. We should pay attention to them and support," Tokayev told.
