Bishkek, Aug.28, 2019. /Kabar/. On July 11-17, 2019 6 Kyrgyz farmers visited Switzerland to study best practices in animal husbandry and dairy production. The delegation included representatives of the CAAP IFC project and Ak-Zhalga milk processing plant, as well as farmers of Issyk-Kul Oblast.
The trip was organized by CAAP IFC (Central Asia Agrifinance Project). In order to exchange experience in the development of dairy cattle breeding, farmers visited the livestock market, operating dairy farms, familiarized with the full production cycle of Swiss cheese production, as well as visited farms, alpine meadows, etc.
The internship consisted of theoretical and practical training of new standards of animal husbandry development, correct use of feed and feed additives influencing the increase of milk productivity, etc.
"This internship was a great opportunity to learn the subtleties and details of animal husbandry in Switzerland. The advanced experience will help us to increase production and provide the population of our country and neighboring countries with quality dairy products. I very much hope that such projects will be continued and Kyrgyz farmers receive not only practical knowledge, but also business contacts," said Kaiyrbek Kozhoghulov, the Ak-Zhalga milk processing plant representative
The Central Asia Agrifinance Project has been implemented since February 2014 with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Finance of Austria and the Japanese Government. It aims to increase the capacity of financial institutions and increase the profit of farmers and agribusinesses through targeted training, supply chain development and linking to markets and financing institutions.
The project plans to expand the number of dairy partner plants in Kyrgyzstan, and is part of the World Bank Group's Global Finance.
