UN Women Representative, Labor Minister of Kyrgyzstan discuss gender equality

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Labor and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan Ulukbek Kochkorov and the UN Women Representative Ulziisuren Jamsran discussed cooperation in the field of gender equality, the Ministry reported. The talks addressed a number of important directions on promotion of gender policy, as well as issues of demography and security of the population to bring them into the governmental level for making the relevant resolutions.
Kochkorov noted that the Ministry is carrying out works in this direction. According to him, the government is providing assistance to crisis centers that help women facing violation.
He also informed about the second forum of women from Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, which was held in Bishkek.
The two then touched the issues of representatives of women in local council elections that might help in elimination of constant conflicts, resolution of social issues.
The Minister promised that the government will continue active work on provision of equal right to women and men in political, social, economic, cultural and other spheres.
