AKIPRESS.COM - On August 31, 2019 Ala-Too Square hosted a festive event in honor of the 28th anniversary of Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan with the participation of President Sooronbai Jeenbekov. Ex-President Roza Otunbayeva, Prime Minister Muhammedkaliy Abilgaziev, Speaker of the Parliament Dastanbek Jumabekov, Chairman of the Supreme Court Gulbara Kaliyeva, Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Raimberdi Duishenbiyev, and Mayor of Bishkek Aziz Surakmatov took part in the event together with the President.
The event was accompanied by a concert program, and the head of state delivered a congratulatory speech.
More than a thousand people celebrated Independence Day in the main square of the country, including civil servants, politicians, representatives of diplomatic institutions, prominent athletes, cultural figures, members of the Parliament and guests of the capital.
Former Speaker Medetkan Sherimkulov, Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of the Peoples of Kyrgyzstan Abdygany Erkebayev, former Prime Ministers Amangeldy Muraliyev, Felix Kulov and Joomart Otorbayev were spotted among the guests of honor.
