AKIPRESS.COM - The contribution of the digital economy to Kyrgyzstan's GDP is insignificant - 0.4% of the country's GDP, as digitalization is just beginning to gain momentum in Kyrgyzstan. This is stated in the analytical review of the National Statistical Committee "Assessment of the level of digital development in the Kyrgyz Republic".
The share of the digital economy in the GDP of developed countries increased from 4.3% to 5.5% from 2010 to 2016, and in the GDP of developing countries - from 3.6% to 4.9%.
In most developed countries, the size of the digital sector averages 6-7% of GDP, of which in France - 5.7%, in Germany - 6.3%, the UK - 7.1%, the U.S. - 7.4%, Sweden - 8.6% of GDP. South Korea has the largest share of the digital economy in GDP (12%).
According to the Eurasian Development Bank, the share of the digital economy in the total GDP of the Eurasian Economic Union is less than 3%. The share of the digital economy in Russia's GDP is 3.0%, while that of Kazakhstan is 3.9%.
