Tokayev outraged by high cost of air tickets in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev underlined the high prices for airline tickets in the country, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported.
The cost of jet fuel for foreign carriers in local airports is higher than for domestic ones, he noted.
"It is known that prices in our country are high - from food products and clothes to various services. For example, why air tickets of the main carrier for more demanded routes are much higher, up to 30% sometimes, than in Europe raises questions," he said.
The head of state was outraged what are the reasons for such prices at Kazakhstani airports.
According to him, the aviation sector of Kazakhstan as a result loses its international competitiveness.
"Transit capital of the country decreases," he noted.
In this regard, the President ordered urgent measures to eliminate the shortcomings.
Tokayev on September 2 is delivering his first address to the nation at a joint session of the Parliament.
