Solar power plant commissioned in Almaty region

AKIPRESS.COM - A solar electric plant has been put into operation in the city of Kapshagai of Almaty region, Informbureau reported.
The opening ceremony was attended by Vice Prime Minister Jenis Kasymbek and governor of Almaty region Amandyk Batalov, the project's investor "Eneverse Kunkuat" company said.
The plant will annually generate about 160 million kw/h of electricity.
The project was implemented with the support of the national company Kazakh Invest.
The total estimated cost of the project amounted to 27.7 billion tenge. Investors established more than 300,000 solar panels. Implementation of the project will reduce carbon diaxide emission to the air by 150,000 tons a year.
Construction works started in 2018. More than 500 Kazakhstani workers were involved.
