Bishkek, Sept.5, 2019. /Kabar/. Patients with V stage chronic kidney failure will be able to get hemodialysis services without co-payment in both public and private centers, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Health Minister Madamin Karatayev said at the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He said according to the Government decree of Aug. 29, 2019, patients with chronic kidney failure will receive hemodialysis without co-payment, there is no division into budget and benefit categories.
"Patients have the right to freely choose a health care provider providing hemodialysis services. An electronic list of patients with chronic kidney failure in the fifth stage will be entered in the Unified Register," Karatayev said.
"Payment for provision of hemodialysis services is made at the expense of the republican budget on the basis of the relevant agreement. The Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund (CMIF) is a single payer for hemodialysis services provided to patients. Hemodialysis services are provided by public and private health care organizations, which have received the appropriate license," Karatayev said.
According to the deputy minister’s data, there is a tendency for the number of patients with kidney insufficiency to increase in the country; at the moment 142 patients suffering from V stage are on the waiting list.
CMIF Deputy Chairman Akylbek Kalykov said in 2019 in total 763 people in Kyrgyzstan are receiving hemodialysis services.
"Revised budget provided KGS 478 thousand to pay for hemodialysis services on a preferential basis for 101,702 sessions, and in fact, KGS 286 thousand (59.8%) has been financed for these purposes, which ensured the holding of 60,851 sessions," said Kalykov.
