Fuel and energy sector should be developed without affecting environment — Tokayev

AKIPRESS.COM - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during the expanded session on development of oil and gas sector in Atyrau region, pointed out that the development of this sector should not affect the environment, Akorda reported on Twitter. "Clean environment is an important premise of prosperity of the Kazakhstanis and health of the nation," Tokayev noted.
The head of state also underlined the importance of launching innovative technologies, which, according to him, plays a huge role in increasing the effectiveness of using natural resources.
"We obliged the subsoil users to direct 1% of their incomes for scientific and technical developments. It's important to work out certain transparent mechanisms of using of these funds," Tokayev said.
