Blast in turbine of Bishkek CHPP leaves 2 hurt

AKIPRESS.COM - A breakdown occurred in Bishkek CHPP, 2 wiremen were hurt, the Electric Stations JSC said.
A breakdown occurred in the 7th turbine of the CHPP.
The blast in the turbine located in the older part of the CHPP was eliminated.
Causes of the accident are being investigated, the statement said.
On January 26, 2018 a major breakdown occurred in the Bishkek CHPP leaving the residents of the city without heating during the coldest since 2012 days. A number of high-ranking officials, including ex-Prime Ministers and top managers, were arrested afterwards within the criminal probe into legality of modernization of the power plant on TBEA grant.
