AKIPRESS.COM - President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga on September 5 delivered a speech at the plenary session of the fifth Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok, Russia, Montsame reports.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad participated in the session.
Commending the annual Eastern Economic Forum as a prestigious platform for world leaders from various fields to get together for partnership to reinforce regional economic growth in the Far East region and the Asia Pacific, Battulga proposed solutions for accelerating economic growth, one of the key topics of the forum.
"The people, connected to each other with various types of networks and able to exchange information and knowledge, are demanding from us greater responsibilities, economy growth, poverty reduction, and rapid development. Adequate solutions of science, technology and economic, such as shared economy, connectivity and resource utilization/optimization are available to create favorable livelihood conditions for the people. I call for all of the guests brought together here to exchange views on all kind of measures to alleviate or manage restrictions and barriers to introduce those solutions into life".
Mentioning about the new partnership of Comprehensive Strategy brought by Mongolia and Russia during President's recent visit to Mongolia, the Mongolian President expressed his willingness to make the economic cooperation between Mongolia and Russia a model partnership. He then thanked for the Russian side for their support on formulating proper legal environment for Mongolia to conduct transit transportation with facilitated terms taking the special geographical location of Mongolia into account.
After talking about the proposal to study the possibilities to establish a free trade agreement between Mongolia and Eurasian Economic Union within its policy to boost trade, economic and investment cooperation with the regional states, Battulga informed about the ongoing program to build economic corridor of Mongolia, Russia and China with a view to take an active part in the regional economic integration.
During his remarks, the President of Mongolia noted about the achievements of Mongolia within the plan to establish an organization responsible for the coordination of the East Asian Energy Network project. The four largest energy consumers in the world locate in the Northeast Asia and as Mongolia has a potential to provide them with cheap and reliable energy, the proposed network is deemed to have a great impact on the regional economic competition, enabling more accessible and affordable energy supply.
In conclusion, the President remarked that Mongolia has its door open for potential investors and partners to work with Mongolia, and mentioned that Mongolia makes efforts to increase trade turnover with its partner countries, create favorable legal conditions for them and adheres to a policy to bolster value added exports. Last but not least, he affirmed the common goal of the participating countries to develop trust based cooperation to maintain regional peace and stability.
