Uzgen district marks Komuz Day

AKIPRESS.COM - Osh vice-mayor Rahman Atadjanov, heads of mayor's office Mamyt Tailakov, heads of village councils and school principals attended the event dedicated to Komuz Day in Uzgen district of Osh region. The employees of city department organized festival of komuz players and mayor's office presented diplomas and prizes for event participants.
The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov signed a decree on establishment of the Komuz Day on September 9.
A new holiday was established in order to to strengthen the role of traditional music to expand the intercultural dialogue of ethnic communities of Kyrgyzstan.
