AKIPRESS.COM - A court in Ulaanbaatar ruled to fine the former President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj 1 million tugriks ($376) for defamation of former Prime Minister Norovyn Altankhuyag, Mongolnow reports. The ex-PM was outraged by statement of ex-President that the Premier himself wanted to bring his government to the resignation. Altankhuyag served as Prime Minister from August 9, 2012 to November 5, 2014.
Altankhuyag's lawsuit was estimated at 1 billion tugriks but the court decided that 1 million tugriks and an official rejection are enough.
The ex-PM Norovyn Altankhuyag and ex-President Nambaryn Enkhbayar signed the agreement on cooperation of their parties, which allegedly would avoid resignation of Altankhuyag. This bacame the main reason for early resignation of the ex-PM.
