AKIPRESS.COM - Member of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Bakhytbek Smagul proposed to assign one of the streets of Nur-Sultan the name of Jochi Khan, the eldest son of Genghis Khan, Zakon.kz reports.
"As part of the 750th anniversary of the Golden Horde voiced by President in his address to the nation, I suggest to give the name of Jochi Khan to one of the streets of Nur-Sultan and establish a monument to the Khan," the parliamentarian said.
According to him, this will demonstrate our statehood not only to our citizens, but also to every guest of the country.
Jochi Khan was the eldest son of Genghis Khan and his first wife Borte. He was the army commander participating in the conquest of Central Asia.
