Life sentence offered for child rape in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - A draft law on toughening of responsibility for some grievous crimes envisages a life sentence or at least 20 years in prison, Deputy Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Murat Akhmetzhanov said, Vlast.kz reported.
According to him, the bill provides that sexual crimes even without aggravating circumstances will be considered as grevious crimes.
Sexual crimes against children committed during duty performance will have more severe responsibility.
According to Akhmetzhanov, the bill proposes tightening of responsibility for concealment of crime against minors. These will be grevious crimes facing up to 6 years in prison.
