President Mirziyoyev visits first presidential school in Tashkent

AKIPRESS.COM - President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on September 10 visited the first presidential school opened in Tashkent. The network of presidential schools will identify gifted children and will use the advanced teaching techniques and technologies to provide education to such students. These schools will have English language of instruction and will draw on the best practices of the developed countries.
The first presidential school opened in Tashkent has the modern building and dormitory for 168 students, a hotel for 15 teachers.
Around 7,000 applied to study in grades 5-10 of the school and 144 were selected only. 30 foreign specialists were hired on the basis of the competition to work at teh school in cooperation with the Canadian and British recruitment agencies. 72 qualified local teachers were selected.
The school uses the integrated approach to learning which requires an intentional connection between standards, assessments and lesson design and implementation.
President Mirziyoyev talked to students and teachers during visit to the school.
"This is the first serious trial in your life. You have seen yourselves what labor, knowledge and justice mean. You should serve as example for others with your knowledge, behavior, patriotism. In future you will become the force able to contribute to development of Uzbekistan," the President said.
Similar presidential schools will be opened in Nukus, Khiva, Namangan this year.
Construction of such schools is planned in Bukhara, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Ferghana regions in 2020, in Andizhan, Navoi, Surhandarya, Syrdarya and Tashkent regions in 2021.
