Bishkek, Sept.11, 2019. /Kabar/. Mirlan Abdykalykov's Joo Kyulyuk film is selected for the main competition program of the Cinekid 33rd International Media Festival.
The film screening will take place on Oct. 16-25 in several cities of the Netherlands.
The national film will compete for the award and the Leo Synecid statuette in the competition for "Best film for children".
"Mirlan Abdykalykov is officially invited by the festival organizers to present his picture at the screenings in Amsterdam as part of the main international competition. According to the results of the audience voting and the jury's decision, two Grand Prix winners will be determined," said Altynai Koichumanova.
The Festival program includes more than 700 works selected from all over the world.
Joo Kyulyuk tells how children experience problems, their judgments, but with their inherent naivety and childishness. The film's world premiere will take place in October at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, and in Kyrgyzstan on Oct.17.
The Cinekid Festival is the largest international festival of film, television and various new media for children aged 3 to 14 years, which is visited every year by about 70 thousand children, parents and guests. It was first held in 1986. The main goal of the organization is to promote quality visual culture of media products for children and provide opportunities for children to participate in its creation.
