Kyrgyzstani man sentenced to 14 years in prison in Yakutia for abduction and raping a woman

AKIPRESS.COM - A Kyrgyzstani man was sentenced to 14 years in prison in Yakutia for abduction and raping of a local woman, the Investigative Committee for the Republic of Sakha said.
Two other Kyrgyzstanis were sentenced to 4 and 6 years in prison for involvement in the crime.
The sentencing came on Sept 10, but has not come into force.
The gang rape of a local woman sparked nationwide outcry in Yakutia in March 2019. Thousands of local resident protested calling for the authorities to toughen migration requirements for foreigners.
