Female MPs meet with Naryn residents

AKIPRESS.COM - Members of the female parliamentarians forum Aida Kasymaliyeva (SDPK party), Jyldyz Musabekova (SDPK) and Rada Tumanbayeva (Respublika - Ata-Jurt) on September 12 visited Naryn region and met with locals for discussion of gender policy, the press service of the Parliament said. Locals raised the social and economic issues concerning social guarantees of the citizens during the meeting.
Vice Speaker of the Parliament Kasymaliyeva noted that the forum of women parliamentarians is a really effective platform on promotion of political participation of women and adoptiono of socially-important lawss.
According to her, in 2018, 372 appeals were received from women asking for medical aid after being affected by physical violence and 149 cases were received by men.
Deputy chief of police of Naryn region Daniyar Ryskulov said that there were 271 cases of violence against women in 2019.
Participation of women in all management levels would make the life more comfortable, Musabekova said calling women to be active in the upcoming elections of the Parliament and village councils.
The meeting finished by handing over honored certificates to more actice representatives of the region for contribution to expansion of rights and opportunities of women.
