Situation in Kyrgyz-Tajik border 'relatively stable', 13 injured

AKIPRESS.COM - The situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border area is relatively stable, the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said. Border representatives and local authorities of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are expected to meet.
The State Border Guard Service of Kyrgyzstan will be represented by the Chief of General Staff - First Deputy Chairman of the State Border Service Abdikarim Alimbayev. The Tajik delegation will be led by Chief of General Staff and First Deputy Commander of the State National Security Committee Khikmatullo Pirakov.
The shootout occurred on September 16 at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border area killing 1 Kyrgyz soldier and injuring 13 people, including 7 servicemen and 6 civilians of Kyrgyzstan. Two of them remain in serious condition. 11 people will be transported by military transport aircraft to Bishkek.
