Heads of border services of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan discuss border incident

Bishkek, Sept. 17, 2019. / Kabar /. A phone conversation took place on Monday evening between Chairman of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan Ularbek Sharsheyev and First Deputy Chairman - commander of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan Rajabali Rahmonali, the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Heads of border agencies discussed a border incident involving the use of weapons on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border. As a result of the phone talk the shootout was stopped at 21:30.
The State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan is taking measures to prevent further escalation of the incident.
During the shelling from the grenade launchers the Tajik side, the metal observation tower of the Maksat frontier post of the Kyrgyz Republic burned down. One member of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic died.
