Dariga Nazarbayeva holds number of bilateral talks with representatives of leaders of world and traditional religions

AKIPRESS.COM - As part of the 18th session of the Secretariat of the Congress of the World and Traditional Religions, Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva held some bilateral talks with Secretary for interreligious relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations (DECR) Dimitry Safonov, the press service of the Senate said. The Speaker thanked Safonov for longstanding support and active participation in the work of the Secretariat of the Congress.
Safonov in turn thanked the Kazakh side for support of the orthodox nation.
He told about the planned visit of Patriarch Kirill to Kazakhstan in 2021.
At the meeting with Secretary General of the Al Azhar Islamic Research Academy Nazir Mohammed Ayyad, Nazarbayeva praised the efforts of the Academy in strengthening role of Islam in the world, promotion of real, peaceful essence of the religion.
The Speaker also thanked him for opportunity provided to the Kazakh students in their study at this university, where they are receiving skilled education.
