Bishkek, Sept.21, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Health hosted a meeting of Minister of Health Kosmosbek Cholponbayev with new UNICEF representative in the Kyrgyz Republic Christine Jaulmes, at which the parties discussed the main areas of cooperation.
At the meeting, the sides discussed important plans for the protection of maternal and child health, which are already being implemented or are ready for implementation, as well as support of home visit program, which includes working with migrants and unorganized groups, supporting the digitalization of the health care system, introducing telemedicine, etc.
Christine Jaulmes said health care is one of the biggest focuses of all the programmes, implemented in the country, including maternal and child health, immunization and adolescent health.
"And we are ready to support all the plans of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health, aimed at protecting the health of mothers and children," she said.
"All the above directions are of vital importance to us and thank UNICEF for what you are doing for the country and our citizens," Health Minister Cholponbayev said.
"We will continue our mutual cooperation with a focus on childhood and motherhood, because children and mothers are the most sacred thing for all humanity. Disease prevention is rightly a priority in the new health development strategy until 2030. We will also work to strengthen the primary health care system, as almost 70% of the Kyrgyz population lives in rural areas. All our strategies and plans coincide, and we are ready to move forward together," he concluded.
