Chui Oblast’s team become champions of kok-boru at First NNG

Talas, Sept.21, 2019. /Kabar/. The Sary-Ozon team of Chui Oblast became winner of kok-boru the first National Nomadic Games.
In the final against the national team of Osh Oblast, the team of Chui Oblast scored 14 goals against 1 and became the winner of the tournament.
In the game for the 3rd place the team of Talas Oblast confidently won the bronze medal over Bishkek’s team.
Kok-boru is a Central Asian sport in which horse-mounted players attempt to place a goat or calf carcass in a goal. Similar games are known as kokpar, kupkari and ulak tartysh in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan and as kökbörü and gökbörü in Turkey, where it is played mainly by communities originally from Central Asia.
Note that, the Games have started in Talas Oblast on Sept. 16.
The National Nomad Games will be held annually in Kyrgyzstan in each of oblasts in order to promote the Games throughout the country.
