Bishkek, Sept. 24, 2019. / Kabar /. In New York, as part of the General Debate of the 74th Session of the UN General Assembly, the Kyrgyz delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov took part in informal meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of the member states of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
The participants discussed the results of the Fifth Summit of CICA held on June 15 this year in Dushanbe, Action Plan for 2020, as well as a number of organizational issues of CICA, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Aidarbekov in his speech noted that Kyrgyzstan, as a CICA member state, adheres to the goals and principles of the Conference on strengthening mutual trust, cooperation and strengthening regional security, friendship and interaction with other CICA member states.
On the same day, the Kyrgyz foreign minister took part in the opening of the UN Climate Action Summit.
The summit is held at the initiative of the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, in support of the efforts of UN member states to implement the Paris Climate Agreement and climate change measures.
The summit was attended by world leaders, members of governments, financial circles, representatives of business and civil society, who will present real measures in the field of climate change, including their own national plans in accordance with the Paris Agreement.
Within the framework of multilateral events, Aidarbekov also held bilateral negotiations with the foreign ministers of Guyana, Laos and the Maldives.
