Kyrgyz judokas win first medal at World Championships in history of republic

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyz judoka Chyngyzhan Sagynaliyev won bronze medal at the World Championships Cadets 2019 in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Sept 26. Sagynaliyev competed in men's up to 60 kg and defeated athletes from Estonia, Italy and Georgia. In the semi-finals Sagynaliyev lost to Azerbaijani judoka and in the the fight for the bronze medal defeated another Azerbaijan athlete.
This is the first medal in the history of Kyrgyzstan at the World Judo Championships of all ages - cadets, juniors and adults.
