President, Supreme Court chairwoman discuss measures to improve justice system

Bishkek, Sept.27, 2019. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Supreme Court Chairwoman Gulbara Kaliyeva.
Measures to further improve the country's justice system and the judicial and legal reform process were discussed, the press service of the President reported.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted the special role of the judicial bodies in the implementation of judicial and legal reform, implementation of the state anti-corruption policy and protection of rights and freedoms of citizens through ensuring fair justice.
He also noted the special necessity of strengthening the confidence of the population in the judicial system, improving its image and establishing feedback from the public.
Kaliyeva informed about the main directions and measures for the implementation of the "Development of the judicial system of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2019-2022" State Target Program.
"The Program is primarily aimed at establishing an independent and stand-alone judiciary, guaranteeing judicial protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens, improving access to justice and its efficiency and quality," Chairwoman Kaliyeva noted.
The sides noted the importance of continuous improve the qualification of the judiciary, the efficiency and transparency of their activities, the targeted distribution of the composition of the judicial chambers and the improvement of the logistics of the judiciary.
