Turkmenistan establishes diplomatic relations with Bahrain and Oman

AKIPRESS.COM - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Khalifa as part of the participation in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
The Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain praised Turkmenistan's international initiatives, emphasizing the importance of UNGA resolutions adopted on Turkmenistan's initiatives.
The parties noted the need to develop bilateral relations between the two states in the context of implementing the agreements reached at the meeting of the President of Turkmenistan with the King of Bahrain during his state visit to Ashgabat in March this year.
In this context, an exchange of views took place on expanding the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian interaction between the two countries.
In addition, Turkmen Foreign Minister met with his counterpart from Oman Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah and discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation during the meeting.
In particular, the parties discussed the development of cooperation in the area of petro-chemistry, as well as further unfolding of the "Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman" corridor.
