AKIPRESS.COM - MP Marlen Mamataliyev (Respublika - Ata-Jurt party) proposed to shoot a history movie about Alimbek Datka during the session of the parliamentary committee on budget and finance today. According to him, the events in honor of the public officials do not meet the modern requirements.
Most events are held as they were held during the Soviet period, he noted.
"Turkey shot a film about Sultan Suleiman, which was watched by all youth. At least a history movie about Alimbek Datka should be made to show people about his merits," Mamataliyev said.
The parliamentarian suggested to promote the film on social media.
Other members of the Parliament also expressed outrage over celebrations of anniversaries of statesmen of Kyrgyzstan. According to them, citizens should know more about the works of famous public officials through the well-organized events.
The committee discussed the 100th anniversary of state and public worker Turdakun Usubaliyev today. They said a documentary film will be shot about this person.
Alimbek Datka, was a husband of Kurmanzhan Datka known as "The Tsaritsa of Alai" or "The Queen of the South", a stateswoman in Kyrgyzstan. He ruled the Kyrgyz of the Alai. Alymbek was murdered in the course of a palace coup in 1862 and his widow Kurmanjan was recognized by the khans of Bukhara and Kokand as ruler of the Alai and given the title of "Datka".
