Government of Russia has determined a permissible share of foreign workers in certain sectors of the economy for 2020. The decision was signed by the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. RBC reports.
In the field of other land passenger and road freight transport, the permissible share of migrants was set at 26 percent of the total number of employees, vegetable farming - 50 percent, construction - 80 percent. The construction norm does not apply to the territory of Moscow, Dagestan, Buryatia and Amur Oblast.
Migrants will not be able to engage in retail trade in non-stationary trading facilities and pharmacies, in markets, and other trade outside stores, stands and markets.
"The decisions taken regulates the attraction of foreign labor to certain types of economic activity, taking into account regional characteristics of the labor market and the need for employment of Russian citizens as a matter of priority," the Government's website says.
In the first half of 2019, at least 2.4 million foreigners arrived in Russia for work, the Russian Border Service noted. These are mainly citizens of the CIS countries. Uzbekistan takes the 1st place with 918,000 arrived migrants, which is followed by Tajikistan with 523,900, Kyrgyzstan - 265,000, Ukraine - 164,000, Kazakhstan - 105,300.
