Dozens of supporters of Ikramjan Ilmiyanov gather near courtroom

AKIPRESS.COM - About 30 supporters of ex-Deputy Chief of Staff of President's Office Ikramjan Ilmiyanov gathered at the October district court of Bishkek amid upcoming trial on Oct 9.
Ilmiyanov is accused of fraud. The fraud victim is citizen of Belarus Nikolai Grammovich. The case also involves Ruslan Shakirov, an employee of the State Tax Service, who is accused of abuse of power. For health reasons, his case is considered in separate proceedings.
Investigation revealed that leadership of an unnamed Belarusian firm handed $150,000 to Ilmiyanov in exchange for termination of a probe against that firm and removing the arrest from the cargo cars, which were later withdrawn from the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
Ruslan Shakirov's house arrest was prolonged until November 11. Ilmiyanov was arrested on suspicion of fraud on Oct 20, 2018.
Ikramjan Ilmiyanov was one of several associates of former President Almazbek Atambayev, jailed on a number of charges.
