AKIPRESS.COM - Russian President Vladimir Putin met with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the sidelines of the summit of the CIS Heads of State Council in Ashgabat on October 11, Kremlin said.
Berdimuhamedov thank Putin for the support for the First Caspian Economic Forum, which included an exhibition of products made in the Caspian states.
"There were very many participants. Therefore, there are plans for a second forum. I believe the second economic forum, to be held in Russia, will be a success. I also have a request for you as we plan to place an order for the Aurus sedan. We would like to buy the first batch, if possible, the one that was presented at the exhibition," he said.
Putin, for his part, said the Strategic Partnership Agreement, which became effective last year, has yielded the first positive results.
"We are cooperating in many spheres. Thank you for your positive assessment of our new Aurus brand. We are delighted that you like this car. However, automobile manufacturing and commodity trading are not the only spheres of our cooperation. There are many other areas where we are working together. I will not speak about the energy sector now, because we will discuss it during our talks. The situation has improved and is developing after a long pause. I believe that we have good prospects for cooperation in a variety of spheres," Putin said.
