Some religious workers contradict Constitution in their speeches and shake family values – MP

AKIPRESS.COM - Some religious workers in their speeches on social media contradict the Constitution, rules and codes, MP Mirlan Jeenchoroyev (Respublika - Ata-Jurt party) said today at the Parliament session. The parliamentarian asked the Director of the State Commission for Religious Affairs Zaiyrbek Ergeshov what measured are taken against such religious workers.
Ergeshov said there are 44 foreign missioners preaching Christianity and 13 preaching Islam in the country.
"They must get our permit for carrying out work here and we send them to the National Security Committee," he noted.
Jeenchoroyev said he is talking about local religious workers, who perform speeches on social media.
"In their words, they constradict our laws, Constitution, rules and codes, shaking family values. They have their own offices. Do you know who finances them," he asked.
Vice Interior Minister Mirlan Kanimetov said that 439 materials were collected on such cases and pre-trial investigations are underway.
