AKIPRESS.COM - More than 70% of respondents in a survey believe that the presidential initiatives can increase the welfare of the population and develop the country, according to the Institute for Eurasian Integration.
The survey was aimed at studying attitude of the Kazakh population to the activities of the head of state.
The results revealed a high level of direct support of the President. 70.3% of population support Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as a President of the country.
A quite high level of trust to the President of Kazakhstan (74.9%) was shown during the study. Most of the respondents are satisfied with the work of the President, the Institute said.
More than 70% of those studied believe that the president's initiatives can help imporve the welfare of the population and develop the country.
The most important measures adopted by President, according to the respondents, were:
- A statement by the President that the land will not be sold to foreign nationals;
- Tighter penalties for serious crimes against the individual, especially against children;
- Provision of rental housing for large and low-income families;
- Loan amnesty;
- Intensification of cooperation of Kazakhstan with strategic partners and international organizations.
The study established that most of the respondents expecting more actions on fighting corruption in the country from the President.
The survey was conducted in 14 regional centers and rural areas, three cities - Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent.
A total of 1,600 people participated in the study.
