AKIPRESS.COM - Speaker of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Dariga Nazarbayeva during her official visit to Russia met with Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, Sputnik Kazakhstan said.
The meeting was held at the government's residency Gorki.
Medvedev personally greeted Nazarbayeva upon arrival.
The Russian PM at the meeting remembered when he last met with Dariga Nazarbayeva.
"We got acquainted long ago, when I was Chief of the Office of President and it was in 2003 or 2004," Medvedev said.
Then the journalists were asked to leave and the meeting was held behind closed doors.
The delegation of Kazakhstan was composed of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marat Syzdykov, Chairman of the committee on foreign relations, defense and security of the Senate Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed, Chairman of the committee on agrarian policy, natural resourse use and development of rural territories of the Senate Ali Bektayev and assistant to the Speaker of the Senate Bektas Mukhamedjanov.
The Russian side was represented by Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development Mikhail Babich, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, Director of the department for international cooperation of the government Elmir Tagiyev, Deputy Director of the Third CIS Department of the Foreign Ministry Sergey Annenkov.
