AKIPRESS.COM - The state service for fight against economic crimes of Kyrgyzstan held checks in sales points of contraband fuel in Tokmok town, Turmush reported. Employees of the service within the pre-trial investigation on fuel smuggling case from Kazakhstan to the territory of Kyrgyzstan, started raiding territories around the 3 km long underground pipe detected recently in Chui region.
The checks were conducted in three sales points located in Tokmok - on Pionerskaya, Polevaya and October streets - where tanks for transportation of fuel, electric pumps, various containers, hoses and other things were found.
In addition, in one of the mentioned points the employees found a truck allegedly filled with hay bale. However, a hidden tank wagon for transportation of fuel was found during the check of the freight space.
The service said that it will continue certain measures on execution of the decision of the Prime Minister Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev on introducing a temporary ban on import of some oil products to Kyrgyzstan by automobile transport.
On October 23, a crime group engaged in fuel smuggling from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan was uncovered in Ken-Bulun village, Alamudun district. A pipe stretching over 3 km was buried underground for smuggling of fuel in the amount of approximately 100 tons a day.
At a moment, the exact damage caused to the government is being determined.
