AKIPRESS.COM - Rubber ball-shaped blood clot was surgically removed from a 47-year-old woman in the Southern Regional Center for Cardiovascular Surgery in Jalal-Abad, cardiac surgeon Kaldarbek Abdramanov said.
The surgery was conducted last week. The patient had rheumatism, which caused cardiac defect.
"I've never seen the rubber ball-shaped blood clot before, usually blood clots have rough surface and uneven contours. The size of the clot is 6-7 cm. The patient had her mitral valve removed, because it changed because of the rheumatism. Her heart valve was replaced with the artificial valve," he said.
The patient's condition is well and she will soon be discharged from the hospital.
In 2014, cardiac surgeon Kaldarbek Abdramanov and his colleagues carried out an open heart surgery in smartphone light because the power at the hospital was cut off.
