Kyrgyzstan has strong opposition as nowhere else: President

AKIPRESS.COM - Opposition is required for development of the country, President Sooronbai Jeenbekov said at the meeting with heads of media organizations on November 2 in Bihskek. "We have a strong opposition. There is no such opposition anywhere else like that in Kyrgyzstan," the President said.
"Civil society is very active. There are parties. We do not have any fears," the President added.
When asked about 9% election threshold to win seats in Parliament and possibility that opposition will be left behind, the President responded there is still time before the elections, there are parliamentary factions and different suggestions are voiced.
