Tourism income in 9 months of 2019 reached 80 million soms

AKIPRESS.COM - The interdepartmental commission for the coordination of tourism development held its regular session on November 5 with Deputy Prime Minister Altynai Omurbekova and Minister of Culture Azamat Jamankulov in attendance.
They concluded the results of summer 2019 tourist season, viewed a presentation of the draft plan for 2019-2020 tourist season, discussed the visa and registration issues.
Tourism accounted for 4.2% of the GDP in the first 6 months.
6,184,600 foreigners visited Kyrgyzstan in the first 9 months of 2019 opposed to 5,188,500 foreigners in the same months of 2018. It means the number of foreigners visiting Kyrgyzstan increased by 1 million.
At the same time, tax payments to the budget from tourism activities amounted to 80 million soms (76 million soms in 2018) growing by 4 million soms.
