Activists speak for parliamentary government in Almaty

AKIPRESS.COM - A group of activists from Oyan, Qazaqstan movement rallied in Almaty for a parliamentary government and political reforms in Kazakhstan on November 9, Vlast.kz reports.
The activists said they did not file an application for holding the protest in principle claiming that it was their constitutional right.
The protesters also were demanding fair elections, consideration of citizens opinions, a real fight against corruption.
The rally gathered about 50-60 people.
At the rally site, some police and representatives of the mayor's office were seen but no arrests were made.
Another rally that was approved by authorities took place by Respublika movement in Nur-Sultan. The participants of the demonstration were demanding political reforms and a real corruption fighting. In addition, some activists are speaking for need to limit Chinese influence to the economy of Kazakhstan. The protest in Nur-Sultan gathered about 50 people. Some citizens also joined the campaign with the slogan "Freedom for political convicts".
