Medicines imported to Kyrgyzstan for 18 bn soms in 2018: Health Ministry

AKIPRESS.COM - The medicines and medical equipment was imported to Kyrgyzstan for 18 billion soms in 2018, said Health Minister Kosmosbek Cholponbayev at the parliament meeting on Nov 14. MP Tariel Jorobekov asked is there official statistics of imported medicines.
The chairman of the State Customs Service Altynbek Torutayev said that 5,892 tons of medicines were imported in 10 months and exemption reached 1.2 billion soms.
According to the lawmaker, the most of the medicines in the Central Asia are imported to Kyrgyzstan.
Minister Cholponbayev added that according to the latest data, the capacity of Kyrgyz medicine market totaled $160-$170 million. Kyrgyzstan has the smallest volume in Central Asia, he added.
