AKIPRESS.COM - The Astana process on crisis in Syria might be held in December 2019, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi told journalists today, TASS reports. The event has already been cancelled for several times. The MFA earlier told that the meeting will be held at the end of October and then in mid November 2019.
"The sides plan to make it at the beginning of December. We are looking forward to an official request," Tleuberdi noted.
The reason for cancellation is not reported.
The previous round of the Astana process was held on August 1-2 in Kazakhstan. Then the summit was attended by Iran, Russia and Turkey, the government of Syria and the Syrian opposition. Among observers were the UN, Jordan and Iraq.
