AKIPRESS.COM - UK Ambassador in Uzbekistan Tim Torlot expressed concerns over the statements made by Tashkent mayor Jahongir Artikhojaev who insulted and threatened the journalists at the meeting with them.
Sad I haven't yet met the mayor of Tashkent. I'm concerned about his recent comments. The safety of journalists is a fundamental principle of #mediafreedom. The UK will always support the protection of journalists & a free media. Looking forward to discussing this when we meet.
