Kyrgyz State Penitentiary Service has its representative in Russia

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyz Penitentiary Service established a new post of representative of Service in the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in order to solve the arising tasks in the penitentiary policy of two countries, said GSIN. A bilateral meeting of the Kyrgyz Penitentiary Service delegation headed by chairman Melis Turganbayev and the director of the Russian penitentiary Service Alexander Kalashnikov took place on Nov 21 within the IV International Penitentiary Forum "Crime, Punishment and Correction".
Kalashnikov supported the initiative and expressed hope that new position will facilitate the cooperation between two countries, said GSIN.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of training of employees of the penitentiary service in educational institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree envisaging this possibility on Nov 4. The event discussed the issue of holding the 5th meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Penitentiary Services in Kyrgyzstan in summer 2020.
The forum was attended by the delegations from Switzerland, Mongolia, Vietnam, Armenia and CIS countries.
