AKIPRESS.COM - A slight decrease in the migration rate was observed in Kyrgyzstan since 2012, the National Statistics Committee data showed. The current situation was resulted from the termination of the bilateral inter-governmental agreement on the simplification of obtaining the citizenship between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. A number of people who left the country for permanent residence is continued to decrease in 2018, the committee added.
The negative migration balance for 2014-2018 reached 25,000 or 5,400 people in a year.
The negative migration balance was observed by CIS countries, except Turkmenistan, Moldova and Tajikistan.
Russia and Kazakhstan are remained as main countries, which receive main flow of migrants. United States and Germany remained attractive for migrants.
