AKIPRESS.COM - Vice Prime Minister Altinai Omurbekov met IOM Regional Director for South-Eastern Europe, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Argentina Szabados to discuss international migration policy, labor migration and fight against human trafficking, the government's press service said. Around 750,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan work abroad, the Vice PM said.
"Together with our partners we work to improve awareness of migrant workers about their rights and responsibilities while they work abroad, to facilitate their reintegration upon return to home country, to provide support to children of migrant workers, to provide legal assistance to migrant workers abroad," Altinai Omurbekova said.
The government is working on the concept of migration policy of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030. The aim is to stabilize migration processes in the country. One of priority areas of migration policy is creation of favorable conditions for realization of educational, labor, professional, cultural potential of citizens, she emphasized.
Argentina Szabados expressed readiness to support effective implementation of the migration policy in the country and suggested delivery of seminars on regulation of migration processes.
