AKIPRESS.COM - 900 million som are allocated for environment, but most of these funds go to salaries, when Bishkek is on the way to the environment disaster, MP Dastan Bekeshev (SDPK) said at the session of the Parliament.
According to him, there are funds in the state budget for resolution of these problems and proposed to consider variants.
Chief of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry Mirslav Amankulov said that the problem of smoke in Bishkek was discussed at the event with participation of international organizations, government members and Parliament members recently.
"We can not ignore this. More than 400,000 cars, 3,000 mini buses everyday drive in Bishkek, 28 boiler stations and real estates burn coal. We need gasification. There is also a limit of using electricity. If we increase the limit, it would help clean the air," Amankulov noted.
Bekeshev while commenting on the issue said that the government does not have any specific position on this problem.
