AKIPRESS.COM - Six waste burning complexes are planned to be built in Kazakhstan, Zakon.kz reports.
The Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resourses of Kazakhstan started implementing Waste to Energy project, which implies burning of waste to receive the electricity with further handover to the electric networks, Minister Magzum Mirzagaliyev said.
"This project will allow not only to reduce the volume of waste burial in the landfills, but also attract investments to this area," he noted at the session in Senate of the country.
According to him, the share of thermal utilization is planned to be brought to 30% until 2025, which is equal to the average share in the European Union.
These measures will allow to reduce the budget costs for elimination of dangerous landfills, construction of dumps and decrease the negative affect on ecology, health of people, flora an dfauna, the Minister added.
