President of Uzbekistan pardons 92 citizens

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the order to pardon the convicts "who repented sincerely and decided to change," local media report. In connection with the 27th anniversary of adoption of the Constitution, 92 citizens were pardoned, 79 of them were convicted for participation in activities of prohibited organizations.
20 convicts will be released from custody, 37 will be released on parole.
Sentence for 16 will be softened.
73 convicts will be released in total.
Sentence for 19 convicts will be shortened.
The line ministries and agencies have been tasked to assist social adaptation and reintegration into the society of pardoned convicts.
