Over 90 people search for missing Kumtor gold mine workers

AKIPRESS.COM - The search and rescue operation is ongoing at the Kumtor gold mine in Issyk-Kul region.
94 people are searching for two mine workers who went missing since December 1.
34 soecial vehicles and machines are involved into the operation.
The bulldozer driver and a foreman went missing since around 5.30 am of December 1.
Two off-road vehicles were found during a search operation at the Kumtor gold mine.
The missing workers might have been trapped underground by a big landslide. The landslide is estimated by specialists at around 12.5 million cubic meters.
The missing workers have been working at the mine since 2019.
Foreman Omurbek Ishenbekov comes from Bishkek. He was born in June 1984.
Bulldozer driver comes from Temir-Kanat village, Ton district. He is father of four.
The family members of the missing workers arrived at the mine.
